About The Harper Project

When we were at the hospital delivering Harper we received a memory box. Inside were some books about grief and babyloss and other keepsake items. I remember when we were leaving the hospital I didn't get to carry my baby in my arms, she was left behind to be picked up by the funeral home, but I carried this box. No one should ever have to leave the hospital without their baby, but it was comforting to know that the hospital had boxes like these for this situation.

Some of the items found in our memory box.
I didn't really think about where the box came from until I was reading other blogs from women who had experienced stillbirth and it was a common theme for them to make these memory boxes to donate to hospitals after having received one themselves. Since Harper's death I've wanted to do something to help other families that are going through loss, but I wasn't sure what to do.

Until now.

The goal of The Harper Project is to reach out to families in the hospital who are experiencing the devastation of stillbirth by donating memory boxes, care items and support in the hopes of bringing a small amount of comfort and healing to these families.

I want something good to come out of the death of my daughter.
